Hi, my name is Catherine and I’m an artist based out of Vancouver, British Columbia. 
I work mainly with photography but love working with my hands, which is why I love to make jewelry. Several years ago I moved to Vancouver to start school at Emily Carr University of Art + Design. Prior to that I was working in Ontario as a soil scientist.
I have a background in biogeography and soil science and I find nature’s beauty really inspiring. 
I designed some of my jewelry lines to combine ecology with art, so for the BC Treasures series of necklaces, along with the jewelry I have included descriptions of the ecosystems that inspired me. 
My hope is that people wearing the jewelry will be reminded of how beautiful our natural surroundings are, and appreciate the importance of biodiversity and sustainability
